Thank you so much for taking the time to speak with me about
the Guardian Mask and urging me to speak with my vet about pain
control. I thought I was right, you just confirmed it.
I
thought you might want to see some pix of the sweet boy you are
helping. He is a 16.2 hh, 20+/- yr old TWH gelding that was
saved from slaughter. He has the most wonderful personality and
has been so patient and compliant with all of the treatment for
his multiple health problems.
Before

The
pictures on the first page were taken in March 2006. The last
page of photos were taken last month (Feb 2007). The only thing
I haven't been able to take care of was the weeping in his
right eye. I hope and pray that this mask can help him with
this last bit of recovery.

I went to evaluate another TWH gelding
tonight. Unfortunately, he too is blind. The owner did not
realize that ERV can spread to the other eye or how
painful and frightening blindness, even in one eye, can be
and most often is for the horse. This horse will be coming
here within the next week or so. He will most likely need
a mask too as he seems to be in pain and very sensitive to
light. He has to be coaxed into moving at all. He is
several hundred pounds underweight, has an infected sheath
and seems to be confused as to how to continue to be a
horse. That's okay, he will have 3 other blind walkers
here to help him through the process.
Attached are pix of my other blind
walkers. The almost solid black gelding is Romeo. He is a
10 yr old 15.3 hh registered TWH.

The black mare with a blaze is Sugar who is 16 yrs old and 15.3
hh.

The
chestnut gelding is Digger. He is 15.1 hh and will be 17 in
May. Digger will be arriving here in approximately a week. He
has a way to go but I'm sure he'll turn out great.

It is very special and amazing work that you are doing
Jennifer, thank you so much for sharing. We look
forward to your updates.
